Morgan Nicora Selected as Assistant Fitness Center Director/Strength and Conditioning Coach

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Director of Athletics Wendy Smith '87 has announced the hiring of Morgan Nicora as Assistant Fitness Center Director/Strength and Conditioning Coach. In addition to her certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), Nicora is a USA Weightlifting Level I coach who holds certifications as a NFPT Personal Trainer and TRX Coach.

"Haverford has a unique reputation that encompasses driven students and staff and it is an honor to be granted the opportunity to work with them," said Nicora. "I am eager to utilize my experiences to enhance the programs Haverford offers its student-athletes and broader community of students and employees."

Nicora joins the Haverford strength & conditioning staff from nearby Villanova University where she worked as the volunteer assistant strength coach. Her responsibilities were focused on leading warm-up sessions, coaching proper techniques, and providing nutritional supplementation advice.

In addition to the responsibilities in strength and conditioning, Haverford's fitness center staff additionally oversees the Joe Schwartz '83 3K Run/Walk while also teaching courses within the physical education curriculum.

"She has a demonstrated history of being a team player and showed a willingness to jump right into this position, especially during these unprecedented times. Morgan's enthusiasm will be a welcoming presence for the entire campus and I know that she will be a great addition to the Haverford community!"

Nicora got her start in college strength & conditioning at her alma mater, Rowan University. While completing her bachelor's degree in health and exercise science, she worked as a volunteer assistant strength coach for the department's varsity teams. Nicora graduated from Rowan in 2019 with a specialization in health promotion and wellness management along with earning a certificate of undergraduate in psychology of exercise and sport. Working with the University's 18 Division III programs, she assisted in all facets of the strength & conditioning program with an emphasis in coordinating programming workouts.

Prior to her experiences at the college level, Nicora has worked as a personal trainer at The Edge Fitness Clubs and Peak Performance since 2018. As a personal trainer, she coached high school and college athletes in both one-on-one and small group settings to enhance athletic performance.
