Indoor Track & Field to Host Centennial Conference Championships

Men’s Schedule | Women’s Schedule

Haverford, Pa. – The Haverford men's and women’s indoor track & field teams have announced their schedules for the 2014-15 season.

The indoor track & field season begins with the Fords competing in two meets inside the Alumni Field House as they take part in the Villanova Pyrah Meet on Dec. 6 before hosting the Haverford Holiday Meet (Dec. 13).

After the winter break, Haverford will take part in the Lehigh Invitational (Jan. 17), Princeton Invitational (Jan. 24) and Tufts Invitational (Jan. 31).

The month of February will give fans several opportunities to see the Fords at home. Haverford will host the McElligott Invitational (Feb. 7) and Keogh Invitational (Feb. 21). The Fords will also take part in the Tufts Cupid Challenge (Feb. 14).

Just like during the fall cross country season, Haverford College will once again serve as the host of the Centennial Conference Championship for the indoor track & field season. The Alumni Field House will host that championship on Feb. 28 and March 1. The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place in Winston-Salem, N.C. on March 13 and 14.

The men’s indoor team had six individual Centennial Conference champions last season on its way to a second-place finish at the conference meet.  The men went on to finish tied for the 15th NCAA Indoor Championship with a runner-up finish in the distance medley relay and fifth-place finish from the now graduated Christopher Stadler.

For the women, Brittany Steele returns after a solid first season with the Fords in which she captured both the 60-meter and 200-meter individual championships for the women’s team. Nora Weathers also returns after earning honorable mention All-Centennial Conference in the mile. As a team, Haverford placed sixth overall at the meet with 58 team points.

Leading the men’s team, Tom Donnelly enters his 40th season as head coach at Haverford. On the women’s side, Fran Rizzo embarks on his 25th season as head coach.
