Haverford appoints Grube as Director of Sports Information

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College athletic department has announced the hiring of Justin Grube as the Director of Sports Information. In this role, Grube will lead the public relations functions for the department and its 23 varsity sports.

"Justin brings a creative outlook and plenty of enthusiasm to support our student-athletes and communicate their many accomplishments and the diversity of their academic, athletic and other endeavors to the broader community," said Smith. "We are excited to have him join the Haverford athletic department and to direct the promotion of our athletic program and student-athletes."

Grube comes to Haverford College from Shawnee State University where he served as the Sports Information Director and Game Day Management Coordinator for the past two academic years. During his time at Shawnee State, Grube served as the official contact for all 13 varsity sports at the University, including 10 teams that competed for national championships during his tenure.

“I am very thankful for the opportunity that Haverford College has provided to me. I would like to thank Wendy and the entire search committee for the trust that they have placed in me,” stated Grube. “I cannot wait to get started in this position. From my first time on campus, I could immediately sense the passion for intercollegiate athletics at Haverford. I look forward to promoting the accomplishments of these fine student-athletes both on the playing field and in the classroom.”

While at Shawnee State, Grube was instrumental in offering high-definition webcasting and live stats to the school’s community for the first time. He also revamped the athletic department’s social media initiatives and finished complete record books for each of the University’s sports.

Prior to Shawnee State, Grube worked as an Athletic Communications Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania where he served as the primary contact for seven of the school’s 33 varsity sports. A native of Lancaster, Pa., Grube obtained his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sport Management, with a minor in communications, at Alvernia University.
