HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men’s and women’s soccer programs have been honored as 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award winners. A total of 280 men’s college programs and 581 women’s college programs were honored with this distinction.

The award recognizes teams that maintain grade point averages of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The NSCAA Team Academic Award honors teams based on their performances from the previous academic year, in this case the 2013-14 school year.

Haverford is one of just 191 schools that had both its men’s and women’s team honored with this award. Both the men’s and women’s team have earned this honor in each of the past nine seasons. Over the past 18 years of this award, women’s soccer has won this award 17 times, while the men have been honored 16 times.

Throughout the Centennial Conference, Johns Hopkins was the only other institution to have both its men’s and women’s programs recognized with this academic team honor.
