Cope Field

Back to Facilites Home...

Cope Field is home of the Haverford cricket team which is the only varsity team in the country.

The field is named in honor of one of the earlier varsity players, Henry Cope. A Class of 1869 graduated, Cope inspired Haverford cricketers for many decades. The team's picturesque home pitch is surrounded by the president's and faculty members' houses. Almost every student of that era played some form of cricket at Haverford.

The John A Lester Cricket Pavilion is also home to the CC Morris Cricket Library, the largest collection of cricket literature and memorabilia in the Western Hemisphere.
