Back to Facilites Home...Bettye Marshall and Norman B. Bramall Tennis Courts, the site of the 1985 NCAA Division III Championships, feature 12 all-weather courts with six on Marshall and six on Bramall. The courts were resurfaced during the summer of 2013.
Norman Bramall served as the head coach of Haverford's men's tennis program for 45 seasons. He was named head coach in 1928 and concluded his coaching career at Haverford following the 1968 season. Known as the dean of Philadelphia area college coaches, Bramall compiled a 309-147-1 record as head coach. His success was highlighted by a string of eight Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in a span of 10 seasons from 1947-56, including a string of six straight to start that run of championships.
The Bettye Marshall courts were named in recognition of her support of Haverford and to commemorate the admission of women into the college. Marshall was the wife of J. Marshall Howard '26.
