Back to Facilites Home...

Walton Field is a grass playing surface that hosts men’s and women’s soccer. Walton Field features a grandstand with a capacity of 1,000, press box and filming deck. Haverford held the NCAA Division I and III Women's Lacrosse Championships on Walton in 1988.

The then-football field was named at the request of the Class of 1890. It serves as a dedication to Ernest Forster Walton. Walton entered Haverford in 1886 and graduated in 1890. During his time at Haverford, he was the President of the Athletic Association and won the 440 and 100 yard dash. Walton was very influencial in building the track. He passed away on January 8, 1902 in a tragic train accident.
