Fox garners weekly Centennial award

LANCASTER, Pa. - Haverford College junior Casey Fox was dominant in his first start on the mound this season and was awarded with the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week honor for his performance.

Fox, a two-time all-conference selection, led the Fords to a 15-1 win over Eastern University last Tuesday by pounding the strike zone in four and 2/3 innings of work. The Richmond, Va. native only allowed two extra base hits to Eastern, struck out nine batters, had three walks, and did not surrender an earned run. Eight of Fox's nine strikeouts came when the Eagles had a runner in scoring position.

Haverford went 1-1 last week with its loss coming at the hands of No. 8 Rowan. The Fords return to action tomorrow, April 1, against rival Swarthmore College. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m. at Kannerstein Field.
