ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Zach Taylor went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs for the Haverford College baseball team as the Fords topped host Muhlenberg College 11-4 in Centennial Conference play on Monday afternoon.

Haverford (15-15, 8-6 CC) wasted little time pulling away from the Mules (15-15, 8-6) as the Fords' bats busted out for four runs in the second inning and three runs in the fourth. Five different Fords knocked in runs during those innings to help give the visiting team an 8-3 lead after four innings of action.

Starting pitcher Casey Fox (2-2) handled the game the rest of the way. He limited Muhlenberg to just one hit in his final three innings of work. Fox finished the day with seven innings on the mound as he allowed four runs on seven hits, while he struck out five batters.

Seven different Fords combined for 13 hits in the game for Haverford, and six of those seven players knocked in at least one run. Taylor led the team with three RBIs and six total bases. The sophomore's three doubles is tied for the most doubles in a single game for any player at Haverford.

What made the Fords lethal on Monday was their speed on the base paths. Haverford swiped nine bags in the game, the sixth most in program history, and was led by Marley Randazzo who tied a school record with four steals of his own.

Nick Miranda, Mike Tentilucci, and Randazzo each had two hits in the game, scored two runs, and knocked in at least one run.

Patrick Falkoff pitched two scoreless innings of relief without surrendering a single hit.

The win vaults the Fords into a three-way tie with Muhlenberg and McDaniel College for second place in the conference. Haverford split its season series with both the Mules and the Green Terror.

The Fords start a series with Franklin & Marshall College on Tuesday, April 22 at Kannerstein Field. Haverford hosts the Diplomats on Tuesday and will travel to Lancaster, Pa., to take on the Centennial foe in Game 2 of the series on Friday, April 25. Both games are set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
