Ethan Lee-Tyson Named CC Baseball Player of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford sophomore outfielder Ethan Lee-Tyson has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Monday afternoon. Lee-Tyson takes the award after an outstanding 4-1 week that solidified a trip to the postseason for the Fords.

Lee-Tyson hit .476 on the week as the Fords qualified for the Centennial Conference playoffs for the 10th straight season. The Weston, Conn. product had 10 hits in 21 at-bats with 10 runs scored on the week. Lee-Tyson had home runs in wins against Swarthmore and Gettysburg and drove in eight runs on the week to go along with two stolen bases. He posted a 1.450 OPS in five games.

Lee-Tyson has been one of the top performers in the Centennial Conference all season. In  conference games, he ranks first in runs and hits and second in home runs, RBI, stolen bases, on-base percentage and slugging percentage. His .408 batting average in conference games is third amongst all qualifiers.

Lee-Tyson and the second-seeded Fords open up the 2017 Centennial Conference Tournament with a home game at Kannerstein Field against third-seeded Ursinus on Thursday, May 4 at 3:00 pm. Regardless of the outcome of Thursday's contest, the squad then heads Baltimore and the campus of top-seeded No. 6 Johns Hopkins as the double-elimination tournament continues on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6.
