D3Baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College baseball sophomore outfielder Ethan Lee-Tyson was named D3Baseball.com Second-Team All-Mid-Atlantic region, the organization announced on Tuesday morning.

Lee-Tyson is the first Haverford position player to garner D3Baseball.com's All-Mid-Atlantic recognition since Alex Hudak was named to the second team following the 2013 campaign and Casey Fox took home third-team honors after the same season. Last season, Justin Herring took home second-team honors after a breakout season on the mound.

Lee-Tyson was amongst the top offensive performers in the Centennial Conference in 2017 while also making a mid-season position shift when injuries necessitated a move to center field from right field.

Amongst Centennial performers, the Weston, Conn. product ranked third in runs scored, fifth in hits, fourth in home runs, fourth in batting average and slugging percentage and third in on base percentage. Lee-Tyson recorded the third most total bases in a single season in Haverford program history with 96 in 2017 and ranked in the top-10 in program single-season history in runs scored, home runs, hits and slugging percentage.

As the conference season began, Lee-Tyson made an even larger impact, taking home First-Team All-Centennial Conference honors in 2017. In conference games, Lee-Tyson led the Centennial in hits (31), runs (31) and total bases (56). His total of six homers in conference games ranked second in the Centennial while he was third in RBI with 21. Showing an impressive prowess on the base paths, Lee-Tyson also swiped 10 bases in conference games, good for second in the Centennial.

His .408/.511/.737 slash line included the third-best batting average and second best on-base and slugging percentages in Centennial play. Haverford was the second seed in the Centennial Conference tournament and qualified for the conference playoffs for the 10th straight season.

The 2017 season marks the sixth year that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with 800 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to sports information directors, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region, as well as D3baseball.com staff and contributors.

The D3Baseball.com All-America team will be announced on Thursday, May 25.
