What does being a student-athlete mean to you?
At Haverford, it means that you don't have to sacrifice one for the other. One benefit of having such a close-knit community is that coaches and professors are able to come to compromises. It's rare to run into a class conflict but if you do, it's pretty easy to find a solution as a result of this relationship.

What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
Above everything else, you need to make the decision that you and your family feel is best. You'll get plenty of advice from counselors, coaches, and friends. To be able to sift through this and focus on what's most important will make your choice easier. My advice is simply to come visit so you can get a feel for what Haverford students are like and if that's appealing.

What are your thoughts on the Honor Code?
A worry that I think prospective students tend to have about the Honor Code is how strict it may seem. To clarify, it's not the type of thing where people are trying to catch you breaking rules – it's actually the opposite. When you make a mistake, other members of the community will try to help you learn from it. You'll probably hear this a ton of times around Haverford but it bears repeating that it's a collaborative environment.

Why did you choose Haverford?
One thing that stuck out to me on my visit was how close the baseball team is (thanks to Mike Tentilucci '15 for hosting). If you're considering Haverford, you're probably looking at similarly challenging schools – both academically and athletically. However, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a program with a team and a coaching staff that cares as much about each other as we do. We have a small team which I think goes hand-in-hand with the collaborative academic environment. We need to, and like to, help each other be better.

What makes Haverford unique?
I think it's a combination of the small community, Honor Code, and high standards that attract the type of people to create a very unique college atmosphere. As it is at any good school, there are plenty of talented, driven individuals from all walks of life but at the same time, the people here are genuine and extremely friendly.
