HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College senior lefty Brandon Jenkins has been named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced in its weekly awards release on Tuesday morning. Jenkins, a product of Monrovia, Calif., has had a stellar start to the season with a particularly solid showing on Haverford's spring break trip to Fort Myers, Fla.

Jenkins struck out eight in just four innings of work last week, and did not allow a hit as the Fords went 6-1 to cap the trip. Against Hiram, he twirled a scoreless inning with two strikeouts. Jenkins later picked up an-extra innings win against Defiance, helping the Fords get back to the bats with five strikeouts in just 2.2 innings, and followed that performance with a save against Plymouth State in the Florida finale, striking out the only batter he faced. The save was the sixth of Jenkins' career.

In his four innings of work across three appearances, the senior southpaw tallied a win and a save with eight strikeouts, three walks and no hits allowed.

The mathematics major was the Centennial Conference's Scholar Athlete of the Year a season ago, and was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team in addition to Honorable Mention All-Centennial Conference honors in 2019.
