Rain Conspires Against Cricket to Start Philadelphia International Cricket Festival

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford cricket opened participation in the Philadelphia International Cricket Festival with a pair of damp, rain-curtailed fixtures against Merion Cricket Club and Pittsburgh Cricket Club. Neither game was able to make it into the double digits in terms of overs, with confusion raining over the match against Merion Cricket Club, which underwent multiple start and stops.

Haverford followed these up with tough fixtures against New Haven Cricket Club and Colorado Cricket Club. Once again playing in damp conditions, Haverford's bowling restricted New Haven to only 115 runs, but fell short in the chase. Playing Colorado the next day, Haverford found itself outmatched by the veteran Colorado side. The bowling attack did well to restrict Colorado to 120 runs, but the batting lineup was unable to reach the target.
