HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College Cricket team has announced the fall portion of its 2016-17 schedule, which is highlighted by an exhibition contest against a United States Women's National team squad on September 11.
The crowning achievement of the USA National Women's team was participation in ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier in Bangladesh in November 2011. Haverford will begin the 2016 fall season at Cope Field vs. the USA women. The historic matchup is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m.
The regular season opens on September 18 against The British Officers Cricket Club at Cope Field. Haverford split with British Officers last season, taking a 71-70 victory in the spring after being narrowly edged 112-111 in the fall.
Following the matchup with BOCC, the Fords then head on the road to take on Philadelphia Cricket Club (Sept. 24) and Merion Cricket Club (Sept. 25) before wrapping up the season at home against Malgudi Cricket Club (Oct. 1). All regular season matches will begin at noon.
