Field hockey announces dates for indoor/outdoor clinics, camp

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College field hockey program has announced its annual summer camp will take place June 23-25 this year.

Open to players from age 10 to 18, the coaching staff aims to continue to instill a passion for the game as well as helping all attendees achieve their field hockey goals. The camp schedule will feature skills training, game situations and game action.

Cost for the camp is $395 per player with a group rate of $350 per player when at least six registrations are mailed together. Commuter spots are also available at $300 ($250 for group of six or more).

Prior to summer camp, the field hockey team will conduct a pair of instructional clinics. Each clinic will run for three hours and is open to players, including goalies, in grades 6-12 at the cost of $45 per player. The indoor clinic will take place at Alumni Field House on Sunday, Feb. 16, while instruction will move to Swan Field for the outdoor clinic on Saturday, May 10.

The clinics will focus on areas such as stick skills, passing, receiving, shooting and quickness. Goalkeeper instruction will concentrate on footwork, reaction time, and goalie technique.
