Ten Home Games for Field Hockey in 2014

2014 Schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College field hockey will play at home 10 times during the 2014 regular season. In addition to nine official home dates on Swan Field, the Fords will host their annual Alumnae Game on August 23. Haverford has made the Centennial Conference Tournament in each of the past five seasons, including a pair of trips to the conference tournament finals during that span.

The regular season gets underway for Haverford on August 30 when the Fords welcome Rowan to Swan Field. That following week, Eastern comes to Haverford on September 3. The first road trip of the season will come on September 6 when the Fords head to Lebanon Valley. Field hockey will also host Randolph Macon (Sept. 13) and Messiah (Sept. 17) before its Centennial Conference opener.

The conference opener will come on the road as the Fords travel to Dickinson on September 20. The month of September will come to a close with the final two non-conference games on the 2014 schedule. Misericordia visits Haverford on September 24, while the Fords travel to Wesley on September 28.

The final nine games of the regular season will all be Centennial Conference clashes with four home and five away games to finish out the regular season. The four home conference battles in October include Muhlenberg (Oct. 1), Gettysburg (Oct. 4), Franklin & Marshall (Oct. 11), McDaniel (Oct. 25), and Washington (Oct. 29). Franklin & Marshall was a perfect 10-0 in Centennial Conference play during the 2013 regular season.

During the middle of October, the Fords will take three road trips that includes stops at Ursinus (Oct. 8), Johns Hopkins (Oct. 17), and Bryn Mawr (Oct. 22). Ursinus won the 2014 Centennial Conference Tournament to advance to the NCAA Tournament. The regular season concludes with a trip to Swarthmore on Nov. 1.

Jackie Cox is entering her fifth season at the helm of the Haverford College field hockey program in 2014. The Fords went 11-8 overall last season and finished fourth overall in the Centennial Conference with a 6-4 CC mark. The Fords have won 11 or more games in each of Cox's first four years as head coach.
