HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College field hockey team scored three goals in a ten minute span during the second half to come back and defeat the Misericordia Cougars 4-3 on Wednesday night at Swan Field.

Senior Catherine Aronowitz and junior Brenna Boehman each scored two goals in the victory. It's the first time that the team had two players score at least two goals in a game since Oct. 26, 2013 when Bryn Bissey and Megan Holt did so vs. Swarthmore.

The Fords' first scoring opportunity came in the 12th minute when freshman Elena Veale had two consecutive shots saved by Misericordia's goalie Angela Pasquini off a penalty corner from Aronowitz.

Haverford opened the scoring with a goal from Aronowitz on an assist from senior Jen DiMaria in the 21st minute, however, Misericordia answered back with a goal from Lindsay Hischak a few minutes later.

The Cougars started the second half with a goal in the 38th minute from Colby Eldridge to take a 2-1 lead. 42 seconds later, Boehman blasted a shot by Pasquini into the top right corner of the goal. Five minutes later, Aronowitz tallied her second goal on a shot that beat the Misericordia goalie to the far right post to take a 3-2 advantage. In the 48th minute, Boehman scored her second of the night to give the Fords some extra breathing room.

Misericordia wrapped up the scoring with a goal from Hischak during a second untimed penalty corner after time had expired.

It's Boehman's first career multi-goal game while Aronowitz achieved the feat for the fourth time. Veale led the Fords with five shots on goal while senior Brooke Kelly had two defensive saves in the win. Hischak led Misericordia with two goals while Pasquini made 10 saves in the loss.

Head coach Jackie Cox's squad improved to 3-4 on the season while Misericordia fell to 3-5. The Fords will travel to Wesley on Sunday in a non-conference match that is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
