COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The No. 5 Ursinus Bears (10-1, 6-0 CC) defeated the Haverford College field hockey team (5-6, 1-3 CC) 6-1 on Wednesday night at Eleanor Frost Snell Field.

Ursinus got the scoring started with a goal from Amber Steigerwalt on an assist from Stephanie Cooper in the fourth minute. Devin Brakel added another for the Bears in the 11th minute on Cooper's second assist of the game. Ursinus added two more goals in the period and took a 4-0 lead into halftime.

After two more goals from the Bears, the Fords finally tallied their first goal in the 70th minute. Freshman Paige Carson scored her third goal of the season from senior Catherine Aronowitz. For Aronowitz, it's her fifth assist in the last four games. She's tied her career-high with six assists, a mark she set last season.

The schedule does not get any easier for head coach Jackie Cox's squad as it hosts No. 6 Franklin and Marshall on Saturday at 1 p.m.
