HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College field hockey team completely controlled visiting McDaniel in a 3-0 Centennial Conference win for the Fords. Haverford (7-7, 2-5 CC) finished the game with a 33-2 advantage in shots, racking up a 20-3 advantage in penalty corners.

Seniors Stephanie Terrell and Elena Veale each tallied to bookend the Fords' scoring. Caroline Aronowitz added Haverford's second goal of the day, which was also her first goal of the season. In goal, Danielle Rette needed to make just one save to record her fourth shutout of the season.

Haverford accumulated 12 of its 20 attacking penalty corners during the opening half of play. The Fords finally capitalized on their ninth opportunity of the half when Terrell took a direct insert from Leela Krishnan during the 24th minute. The game's opening goal came on the third penalty corner for Haverford in a span of just over two minutes. Terrell's goal was the eighth of her career as the senior captain now has two goals in each of her four seasons with the Fords. Today's goal was the second game-winner of her career. Krishnan's assist on the insert was her first collegiate point.

The Fords went into the break leading by a 1-0 score, but needed just another 13 minutes to add on in the second period. After watching shots from Terrell and Kesley Chai get saved, Aronowitz made the third time the charm as she beat the Green Terror goalie for her first career tally. The sophomore now has three points from her defensive position after also assisting on a goal in the win over Eastern.

Veale capped Haverford's scoring with an unassisted goal of her own with just under seven minutes remaining in regulation. Collecting the possession at the top of the circle, Veale fired her shot through the defense and into the back of the cage for her third goal this season. Veale now has 27 goals during her Haverford career to move into sole possession of ninth place in the College's record book.

Fourteen different players combined on Haverford's 33 shots during the game. Terrell led the team with seven of those shot attempts, putting five of those on goal. Mason McNulty finished the game with six total shots, adding three attempts on goal. Green Terror goalie Paige Ford finished the contest with 13 total saves.

Field hockey will now have a full week to prepare for Dickinson next Saturday as just three games remain on the regular season schedule. That contest in Carlisle will get underway at 1 p.m. on October 21.
