2018 Field Hockey Schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College field hockey team is slated for eight homes games at Swan Field as part of a robust 17 game schedule in 2018. Haverford is looking for a fourth straight trip to the Centennial Conference tournament after reaching the semifinals a season ago.

After opening up the campaign with the annual Alumnae game on August 25, the Fords head to Cabrini (August 31) and Alvernia (Sept. 2) for a pair of road contests before opening up the home regular season against Eastern (Sept. 8). Haverford then takes back to the road for a contest against Immaculata (Sept. 11) ahead of a home showdown with Rowan (Sept. 15).

The conference opener comes at Muhlenberg (Sept. 19) before the Fords return home for a matchup with defending national semifinalist Franklin & Marshall (Sept. 22) and a non-conference night game with another NCAA tournament team in Misericordia (Sept. 26). A trip to Baltimore to face Johns Hopkins concludes the first full month of the season (Sept. 29).

In October, the Fords host Ursinus under the lights at Swan Field (Oct. 3) ahead of a matinee with Gettysburg (Oct. 6). The team then heads back out on the road for contests at 2017 postseason foe Washington College (Oct. 10) and McDaniel (Oct. 14). For fall break, the Fords are shipping up to Boston for a rare matchup with Tufts (Oct. 17). The matchup will represent the first ever meeting between the two programs and is Haverford's first trip to The Bay State since the 2005 Seven Sisters tournament at Wellesley.

Senior Day comes on October 20 against Dickinson before the home finale against Bryn Mawr (Oct. 24). The Fords take on Hood Trophy rival in the regular season finale, making the trek to Swarthmore on October 27. Haverford has defeated Swarthmore in each of the last 12 seasons, dating back to the 2006 season.

Jackie Cox is entering her ninth season at the helm of the Haverford College field hockey program in 2018. The Fords finished 11-8 overall a season ago, including a 5-5 mark in Centennial Conference competition. Haverford won its final four regular season contests before dispatching Washington College in overtime to reach the conference semifinals at Johns Hopkins.
