Field Hockey Hosts Annual Alumnae Contest

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College field hockey team hosted its annual alumnae contest at Swan Field on Saturday afternoon. The game was a spirited contest that ended in a 1-1 draw, with the alumnae team borrowing a few current Fords to even out the sides. The contest was the first competitive action for the 2019 squad using the new four-quarter, 60-minute format adopted following last season's campaign.

After the contest, the team hosted a tailgate that allowed the current team to network and reconnect with returning former teammates while also making new connections with older alums.

The returning alumnae included Mary Hobbs '13, Sydney Hyder '13, Nicole Witte '17, Natalie Leslie '17, Catherine Aronowitz '15, Elena Veale '18, Paige Powell '19, and Kelly Hancock '16.

Haverford opens up the 2019 campaign in earnest on Friday, August 30 at home against Immaculata on Swan Field. Match time is slated for 4 p.m.
