PHILADELPHIA – Senior co-captain Brett Cohen was honored Tuesday afternoon at the Philadelphia Small College Coaches luncheon with the Sam Cozen Award, presented to local men's basketball players who excel both on and off the court.
A forward for the Fords, Cohen leads the 2013-14 team in scoring, rebounding, blocks and steals. His 16.3 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game are both second-highest within the Centennial Conference. Cohen leads the league in steals with 42 and is sixth in blocks with 21.
For his career, Cohen ranks fifth on the program's all-time rebounding list with 688 and 10th in scoring with 1,098 points. In January he became the 15th Ford to crack the 1,000-point plateau.
Last season Cohen was voted honorable mention all-conference after starting all 24 games and averaging a team-high 35.2 minutes per contest. This season Cohen leads the Centennial in time on the floor averaging 36.9 minutes per outing.
