Cohen garners second-team all-conference recognition

LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior Brett Cohen earned inclusion to the 2014 All-Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Team as released by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

Cohen, a second-team honoree, paced the Fords in points (15.8) and rebounds (9) per game during an impressive senior campaign that included 21 double-digit scoring performances and 10 double-doubles.

The three-year starter finished the season ranked first in the conference in steals (48) while also residing in the top 10 in points (second), rebounds (second), minutes played (second), blocks (sixth) and field-goal percentage (seventh). His 148 defensive rebounds on the year constitutes a new single-season program record.

Cohen, who earned honorable mention all-conference recognition as a junior, showed Haverford fans he was headed for a standout 2013-14 season when the forward erupted for a career-high 28 points in the first game of the year against Ithaca College on November 15.

He then became the 15th player in program history to surpass the 1,000-point mark, crossing the plateau against visiting Gettysburg College on January 14.

Cohen will graduate as the program record holder in offensive and defensive rebounds with 254 and 502, respectively while also ranking among the all-time statistical leaders in blocked shots (third), minutes (third), field-goal percentage (fifth), rebounds (fifth), field goals made (sixth), steals (seventh) and points (eighth).

Senior Adam Honig from Dickinson College was named the conference player of the year while Gettysburg College's Cody Kiefer was voted the league's top newcomer. McDaniel College's Kevin Curley earned coach of the year honors.

In addition to Cohen's Centennial honor he also was named to the second team on the City of Basketball Love (COBL) Division III all-area squad.
