Gibby Graves Named Centennial Conference Co-Player of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Gibby Graves had been named the Centennial Conference co-Player of the Week after leading the Haverford College men's basketball team to an 85-80 victory over Moravian on its home court this past Saturday. The honor is the first of Graves' career with the Fords. He shares the weekly honor with Franklin & Marshall's Morgan Lee.

Graves keyed the Haverford offense with a career-high 24 points in Saturday's victory. The senior guard shot 10-of-16 from the floor (62.5%), while adding a 4-of-5 afternoon at the free throw line. Saturday's scoring output marked the sixth time in eight games this season that Graves has scored 12 or more points.

In addition to his scoring total, Graves filled up the stat sheet with nine rebounds, three assists and two steals. The Chappaqua, N.Y. native is averaging 13.8 points per game this season, good for second on the team behind Matt Sherman's 14.0 points per game. Graves is leading the team with 28 assists on the season. He also ranks second on the team in rebounds per game (6.9) and third on the squad in steals (10).

Graves is averaging 35.4 minutes per game this season, ranking him second among all players in the Centennial Conference. His scoring output is good for ninth overall in the league. Graves also ranks fifth in the conference in assists per game (3.5) and sixth overall in total rebounds per game.

Men's basketball is currently on break from competition as the College begins final exams. When the Fords return to the court, it will be in Daytona Beach, Florida for the Land of Magic Classic. In Florida, the Fords will battle Oswego State (Dec. 28) and Rensselaer (Dec. 29).
