SAAC Profile: Jeremy Evans '18

Jeremy Evans makes his presence known on campus.

A sophomore men's basketball player with aspirations of being a Political Science major and, potentially, an International/Environmental Studies minor, Evans puts in work both on and off the hardwood. In addition to his academic and basketball commitments, Evans is involved in numerous clubs and works with various committees at Haverford.

Evans serves as Honor Code Orienteer (HCO) for the freshmen of Apartment 26, sings with the renowned a cappella group S-Chords, is a member of the Committee for Environmental Responsibility, and represents the men's basketball team on the Strength and Conditioning Advisory Committee.

He resides in the Quaker House, an intentional community in HCA 23 made up of both Quaker and non-Quaker students interested in Quakerism and creating a space for Quaker-inspired student life on campus. The house holds weekly events, including brunch following Haverford's Monthly Meeting for Worship and frequent Quaker speakers.

During the fall semester, Evans participated in the Climate Change Bryn Mawr 360 program. Over fall break, the group traveled to Freiburg, Germany, where they doubled as students and tourists. The program included a trio of Political Science, Geology, and Philosophy courses. Evans and his peers gained an interdisciplinary understanding of the various harms of climate change and the challenges the world faces in limiting impending damage.

Evans makes the most of his student-athlete experience at Haverford.
