HAVERFORD, Pa. – Dickinson shot over 60% from the field on Saturday to hand the Haverford College men's basketball team a 101-59 defeat. The veteran Red Devils (8-4, 4-1 CC) shot 70% from the field in the opening half and made a total of 14 treys to prevent any thoughts of a Haverford comeback after a very quick start.

Jonathan Lang led Haverford's offense with 17 points inside the Gooding '84 Arena. However, the Red Devils had four players finish in double figures, headlined by 23 points from Justus Melton and 20 points from Bryce Allen.

The visiting Red Devils scored on eight of their first nine shots and led by as many as nine points midway through the opening half. Nevertheless, the Fords hung tough and had the lead trimmed down to six points when Lang connected on one of his three triples during the afternoon, setting the score at 24-18 with 10:55 to play in the half.

Haverford was still within striking distance, trailing just 31-24 at the 7:55 mark of the period, but 16-5 run - during which Dickinson made six of its seven shots from the field - ultimately paved the way to a 58-35 lead after 20 minutes. Dickinson followed that first half up by limiting the Fords to just over 27% shooting in the second half on its way to the Century mark on the scoreboard.

Each of Haverford's 15 players did finish the contest with either a point or a rebound as 14 different players scored a point and 14 others came down with a rebound. Josh Fried headlined the rebounding efforts as he collected seven offensive boards to lead the team in just six minutes of playing time. Eight different players came up with a steal, with Lang coming away with multiple takeaways. The Fords also blocked three shots as Joe Scibelli came up with two of those rejections.

Men's basketball will have plenty of chances to bounce back from today's game as the Fords will play three times next week. Up first will be a trip to Gettysburg on Tuesday. Playing a doubleheader with the women's team, the traditional schedule will be flipped as the men will play in the 6 p.m. game followed by the women at 8 p.m. The Fords will be back at home next Thursday against McDaniel before closing out a busy week with a Saturday tip at Johns Hopkins.
