HAVERFORD, Pa. – Visiting Muhlenberg and its red-hot offense proved too much for the Haverford College men's basketball team on Thursday evening. The Mules (3-3, 1-1 CC) hit 16 three-pointers on the night en route to a 96-58 victory over the Fords (2-4, 0-2 CC).

Josh Love provided a spark to Haverford at the start of the second half and finished the game with a team-high 14 points. He was joined in double figures by sophomore Jesse Turkson (12 points) and fellow first year Pietro Berghella (10 points). Seven different players, including all five starters, connected from beyond the arc for the Mules as they were led by 18 points from Dan Gaines.

Muhlenberg started quick and built a 15-5 advantage just over six minutes into the contest behind a trio of three-pointers. The Fords had the deficit under 10 points midway through the second half as Turkson hit a jumper to set the score at 22-13 with 9:43 remaining in the half. Nevertheless, Muhlenberg got back into its offensive flow with a quick 5-0 run that ultimately led to a 43-23 advantage at the break.

Love and Joe Hartman each knocked down threes to start the second half as the Fords showed renewed life out of the break. Haverford trimmed the lead down to 15 points during the second half after Michael Wiper knocked down a jumper after collecting a board on the defensive end. Muhlenberg did not let up in the final minutes, however, as the Mules just kept adding to their lead throughout the remainder of the second half on their way to a 96-58 victory.

Tonight's game marked just the second time all season that the Fords have been out-rebounded by their opponents as the Mules held a slight 42-41 advantage on the boards. When Haverford was clicking on the offensive end it was in large part to a shared effort as 15 of the Fords' 22 baskets were assisted. Grayson Roth led the team with four assists while Turkson added three more helpers. In total, eight different players had an assist for Haverford.

Men's basketball will look to bounce back with a quick turnaround this Saturday at home against Gettysburg. The Bullets and Fords are scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m. The game will be preceded by the women's game against Gettysburg which will start at 1 p.m.
