Named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team ... Went 6-2 in seeding bouts at the Temple Open and advanced to the Round of 32 (10/29) … Was 16-5 at the Vassar Invitational (11/12) … Recorded an 8-4 mark during the Dan Arnstein ’09 Invitational (11/18) … Was unbeaten against Yale during sabre’s victory over the Bulldogs at the Penn State Invitational (1/14) … Finished with nine victories during the Philadelphia Invitational (1/20) … Secured eight individual wins during the Sollee Invitational (2/3) … Went 7-2 during the MACFA “A” vs. “C” bouts (2/11) … Placed 31st at the NCAA Regional Championships (3/10).

2016 -17: Archibald MacIntosh Award recipient … Named to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team ... Placed 22nd at the Temple Open (10/30) … Won six bouts at the Penn State Invitational, including two in weapon squad wins against North Carolina and Yale (1/15) … Tied for the sabre squad best with seven wins at the Philadelphia Invitational (1/21) … Led the sabre squad with nine bout wins at the Sollee Invitational (2/5) … Registered 15 wins without a defeat during the MACFA “A” vs. “C” weekend (2/12) … Led the sabre squad with a 9-1 record during the MACFA “B” vs. “C” bouts (2/19) … Totaled a 12-2 record in the “B” pool to help sabre win the squad title at the MACFA Championship and also advanced to the quarterfinals of the individual championship (3/5) … Advanced to the second round of the NCAA regional and just missed the top 18 with a 19th place showing (3/11).

2015-16: Finished sixth at the Temple Open … Recorded 11 wins at the Dan Arnstein ’09 Invitational … Finished a perfect 3-0 at the Haverford Invitational … Posted eight victories at the Penn State Invitational … Finished 13-5 at the Sollee Invitational … Tied for third at the MACFA Championship … Placed 19th at the NCAA Regional Championship.

High School: Fenced with Salle Auriol Seattle … 2015 Western Washington Division Champion … Also lettered four times in soccer … Three-time first-team All-Emerald City League selection, earning second-team honors in his freshman season.

Personal: Son of Jenner Mandel and Alan Braun … Sister, Leila, is an all-conference fencer for the Haverford College women’s fencing team.
