Title: Assistant Coach-Epee
Previous College: Haverford '18

Former Haverford College men’s fencing captain Ian Wheeler ’18 has returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach where he will assist primarily with the epee squad. Wheeler was named the team’s MVP following the 2015-16 season as a member of the foil squad where he was a regional qualifier. Showing great versatility, Wheeler transitioned to epee later in his career and was once again a regional qualifier during his senior campaign. He began his fencing training at the Vermont Fencing Academy under Viveka Fox.

Wheeler graduated from Haverford in the spring of 2018 with a degree in political science, maintaining a concentration in peace, justice, and human rights. He was a three-time recipient of the Leonard F. Norsworthy Scholarship for Academic Excellence during his undergraduate studies. Wheeler is currently working towards his master’s degree in security risk management at the University of Copenhagen and is expected to graduate from that program in the summer of 2020.
