CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Haverford College picked up two goals from Jack Bodine and scored the final four of the game but an early deficit was too large to overcome as the visiting Fords dropped a 14-5 decision to No. 7 Washington College in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

Haverford (1-7, 0-2 CC) rallied over the contest's final 14 minutes with goals from Bodine, Chris Christensen and Richard Greenberg in fighting back from a 13-1 deficit against the host Shoremen (7-1, 2-0).

Trailing 10-0 in the third period the Fords finally got on the board when Jordan Hitchcock, with his first of the year, scored an unassisted marker while Washington was on a man-up opportunity.

The Shoremen notched the next four goals but Haverford answered with four consecutive tallies, beginning with Bodine's 12th of the season, coming at the 13:15 mark of the fourth.

Christensen, off an assist from Andrew Dalke, scored his ninth of the season for the second of the string of four markers, then Bodine and Greenberg, with his third of the year, closed out the scoring streak.

In the Fords' defensive end, goalie Eric Caliendo was doing his best to keep the game from getting out of hand, coming up with a career-high 17 saves over three periods of action. Caliendo gave way to James Washington at the beginning of the fourth period. Washington completed the quarter surrendering one goal while coming up with three saves.

Washington's Jim Cusick led all scorers in the contest with four goals.

Haverford continues Centennial play with its next game, a road contest Saturday afternoon at McDaniel College.
