Fords fall to Dickinson

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's lacrosse team fell 14-6 to visiting Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action at Swan Field.

Seniors Chris Christensen and Nate Becker led the Fords' attack with two goals apiece. Beckers' markers were the first two goals of his career.

Freshman Richard Greenberg also registered two points on the day with a goal and an assist.

Junior Brandon Boccellari accounted for Haverford's remaining goal in the game with an unassisted tally midway through the second quarter.

The Red Devils (5-5, 2-1 CC) moved out to a 3-0 lead after the opening 15 minutes of play. When senior Brian Gleason pushed the visitors advantage to four early in the second quarter, Boccellari answered back with his fifth of the season to keep the Fords (1-9, 0-4) within striking distance.

A late first-half surge by the Red Devils resulted in an 8-3 lead at intermission. Haverford eyed a rally after the break but Dickinson goalies Nick Baxter (3-3) and Max Pawk combined for six second-half saves to extinguish the comeback attempt.

Haverford sophomore Eric Caliendo made 12 saves in the loss.

Gleason took game-high scoring honors with seven points (four goals, three assists).

The Fords continue their Centennial slate on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. contest against host Muhlenberg College (1-9, 0-4).
