HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's lacrosse team moved to 2-0 in the Centennial Conference with a 14-6 victory over Muhlenberg on Wednesday night under the lights of Swan Field. The Fords (6-3, 2-0 CC) are currently just one of three remaining unbeaten teams in Centennial Conference play after Wednesday's action.

Haverford once again put a varied attack on display as 10 different players found the back of the net. Isaac Krier led those goal scorers with three on the night, while Rob McLallen and Kevin Goshorn each scored twice.

Just over three minutes into the contest, Ben Frost gave the Fords the first goal of the game with his team-leading 13th goal of the season in unassisted fashion. Muhlenberg answered at the 5:03 mark of the period, but that tie game would not last for long as the Fords scored the next seven goals to break the game open.

Starting with Justin Brendel's second goal of the season, which came with 45 seconds to play in the opening quarter, Haverford's 7-0 run spanned all the way into the third quarter. Max Ellis' second goal of the year, off an assist from Stephen DeLeo, started the scoring in the second quarter. Krier then added his first two goals of the night just 1:27 in playing time apart. Goshorn's first goal of the game off of Jack Russ' first of two assists made it 6-1 heading to the half.

McLallen finished the night with five points as he set up DeLeo's eighth goal of the season just 56 seconds into the third quarter. Zack Cohen followed that up with a faceoff victory and then took care of business himself just seven seconds later in recording his first goal of the season. The Mules stopped that stretch with Frank Feaster winning back-to-back face offs and scoring quickly off of each to make the score 8-3.

Nevertheless, Haverford's multi-goal scorers on the night capped the third quarter by finishing up their nights. Goshorn stopped any Muhlenberg momentum as Jack Russ set him up with 12:04 remaining in the third. Krier finished his hat trick with 4:39 to play in the third and now has 11 goals on the year. McLallen's first goal of the night came with 22 seconds in the third. He also tallied just 1:54 into the fourth quarter and now has seven goals on the season.

After setting up two goals earlier, Jack Russ got on the scoring end of an unassisted tally for his fourth goal of the season. That goal came with 11:23 to play and gave Haverford a 13-4 advantage, the team's largest lead of the night. After two Muhlenberg goals, James Forse finished his first goal since a tally in the Fords' 2015 win over Mount St. Mary (N.Y.). That final goal was set up by Chase Williams' third assist of the year.

Reigning Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week Dylan Slack made 11 saves in his 55-plus minutes of game action. He gave way to Will Fox for the final 4:17 of playing time. Fox denied the only shot he faced during that time.

Haverford outshot Muhlenberg by a 37-30 edge and finished with a 33-27 advantage in ground balls. Thanks in large part to his nine faceoff wins, Cohen finished the night with eight ground balls. Ellis, in addition to his goal, caused five turnovers for the Fords defense.

Men's lacrosse will now face one of those other two remaining 2-0 teams in conference play when the Fords trek to Lancaster this Saturday for a matchup with Franklin & Marshall. Opening faceoff in that game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
