PJ Jackson Named to USILA Scholar All-America Team

HAVERFORD, Pa. – PJ Jackson '17 has been recognized by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) as a Scholar All-American for the 2017 season. Jackson is the 12th player in program history to earn this distinction with each of those honors coming since the conclusion of the 2008 season.

The USILA Scholar All-America program was established in 1989 to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. A Scholar All-American must be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Scholar All-Americans must have brought credit to themselves, the institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. They must also be an All-American, a member of a North-South team, or an outstanding league or conference player.

Jackson, who is one of just three third-team All-Americans in the history of the Haverford men's lacrosse program, also competed in the USILA North-South game. He was recognized as the first Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year in Haverford's history earlier this spring.

Jackson earned these postseason accolades after the team captain led the Fords in both caused turnovers (28) and ground balls (46). He was one of four players who started all 15 games for Haverford this season and had a caused turnover in 14 of those contests, including nine games with two or more caused turnovers. His best individual game came when he forced five caused turnovers in the 5-1 win at Gwynedd Mercy.
