HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Haverford College men's lacrosse team fell to nationally-ranked Stevens by an 18-5 score on Saturday. The Fords (3-3) had the early jump on the No. 17 Ducks (5-1) behind a tough first quarter defense and the first two goals of the game. After that early advantage, Stevens took control of the game on its way to victory.

Haverford outshot Stevens by a 9-3 margin during the opening quarter. With both teams locked in a defensive battle, it was not until Stephen DeLeo found Ryan Tetro for his third goal of the season that the first goal of the game was recorded with 1:14 to play in the opening period. The Fords went up 2-0 as Ben Frost tallied his seventh goal of the season just 1:34 into the second quarter before the Ducks came roaring back. Haverford did manage to tie the game at three-all when DeLeo scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season off the first career assist of Griffin Brooks.

Stevens peppered the Haverford defense with 41 shots over the final 45 minutes of game action. Dylan Slack made five saves during his nearly 38 minutes in the crease before Ethan Donlon came on for the final 22-plus minutes and recorded six saves with 11 shots on goal during that time. Chandler Todd collected a team-best three ground balls for the Fords as both he and Max Ellis forced a pair of Stevens turnovers in the defensive end of the field.

Jack Sollee and Isaac Krier each tallied fourth quarter goals to cap Haverford's day with their fifth and seventh goals of the season, respectively. Krier also set up Sollee's tally with his fifth assist this season.

Men's lacrosse will have one more non-conference contest before Centennial Conference play opens up next Saturday at McDaniel. That non-conference date will be the rescheduled Gwynedd Mercy contest that will now be played on Swan Field this Wednesday, March 21 in a 4:30 p.m. start.
