RADNOR, Pa. – The Haverford College men's lacrosse team opened the 2019 season with its annual tough test against Cabrini. In this latest installment, the No. 8 Cavaliers (1-0) were up 9-1 after the opening half and never looked back in an 19-3 victory.

Jordan Krug, the 2018 NCAA Division III Preseason Player of the Year and reigning All-American, was one of three players who recorded hat tricks for Cabrini. He scored six goals and assisted on another. Fellow All-Americans Tyler Kostack and Timmy Brooks each finished with three goals while also dishing assists.

Two of Haverford's three goals came from players making their collegiate debuts. However, it was sophomore Anthony Vizzoni who opened the scoring for the Fords as he tallied an unassisted goal just under 10 minutes into the contest. The goal, which came off of Vizzoni's ground ball after a Haverford face-off win, was the second tally of his young career.

Wyatt Feinberg debuted as a member of the Fords' starting lineup and tallied his first career goal just 58 seconds into the second half, stopping a 7-0 Cabrini run. Senior captain Rob McLallen set up that tally after scooping a ground ball off a Cavaliers' turnover. Blake Brinster was the second first-year to get into the scoring act for Haverford as he found the back of the cage with 2:47 to play in the third quarter. Senior captain Stephen DeLeo, the Fords' top point producer from a season ago, assisted on Haverford's final goal of the day. Brinster and DeLeo each finished their openers tied for the team lead with six shots.

Returning All-CC goalie Dylan Slack made 18 saves on the afternoon but Cabrini peppered the cage with a total of 60 shots, putting 37 of those attempts on target. Jake Ephron led the Haverford defense with three of the team's nine caused turnovers against the nationally-ranked Cavaliers. He tied with Colby Ferrigno and Vizzoni for the team lead with four ground balls.

Men's lacrosse will look to bounce back this Wednesday as the Fords host their home opener against Gwynedd Mercy. The opening face-off on Swan Field is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
