HAVERFORD, Pa. – Dylan Slack has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Haverford College men's lacrosse team to its first win of the 2019 season on Saturday. Slack stopped 16 of the 25 shots on goal that he faced during Haverford's 10-9 double-overtime win to collect the third weekly conference honor of his career. Slack also received this honor twice during his sophomore campaign.

Slack started the victory against Kenyon strong with nine saves during the opening period. He added six more in the third and came up with a huge save in overtime to force the second extra period. In addition to his saves in the cage, Slack also forced a turnover and collected four ground balls during the win.

A second-team All-CC selection last year, Slack is leading the Centennial Conference with 70 saves through Haverford's first five games. He has stopped 51.5% of the shots he has faced so far. In his third season as the starting goalie, the Fords' senior co-captain holds the sixth-best goals against average (8.92) in program history. His 15 career victories as the goalie of record currently rank in a tie for seventh all-time. Slack has posted a 55.6% save percentage throughout his career and ranks 13th in school history with 390 saves.

Men's lacrosse is currently in the midst of a six-game homestand on Swan Field. Up next will be the third straight home game for the Fords as they battle No. 12 Stevens this Saturday at 1 p.m.
