Men's Lacrosse Bested by No. 8 Gettysburg

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's lacrosse team hosted No. 8 Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon. Returning to Swan Field for the first time this month, home field advantage did nothing to slow down the nationally-ranked Bullets as Gettysburg came away with a 21-5 victory.

Brian Geffroy scored twice to lead the Fords, while seniors Rob McLallen, Ben Frost, and Garret Trucksess also scored on the afternoon. Ben Fujinaga added an assist on Frost's 22nd goal of the season. Frost is now tied for the team lead in goals with Sean Mowatt-Larssen.

Gettysburg jumped out quickly with three goals during the first seven minutes of action. Geffroy's first goal broke that string, but just 21 seconds later the Bullets provided their answer. That goal was one of nine straight that Gettysburg scored as the lead was 11-1 at the half.

Frost and Geffroy scored a couple of quick goals less than a minute apart during the third quarter to break that run which saw the Bullets lead grow to 12-1. Geffroy now has 12 goals this season following his two-goal performance. McLallen and Trucksess also scored back-to-back goals for Haverford to make the score 14-5 as their tallies spanned the third and fourth quarters. Nevertheless, Gettysburg scored the final seven goals of the fourth quarter during its Centennial Conference win.

Men's lacrosse will now head out on the road next Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest at No. 10 Ursinus. Haverford wraps up the regular season at home against Swarthmore on Saturday, April 27.
