MADISON, N.J. - Goals from Sam Yarosh and Ford Bohrmann led Haverford College's men's soccer team past host Drew University, 3-2, Friday night in the non-conference season opener for both teams at the Drew Fall Festival.

The Fords (1-0) spotted the Rangers (0-1) the quick advantage as Drew's Tommy Tolve converted a penalty kick opportunity just 33 seconds into the game. Tolve struck again in the eighth minute to extend the lead but Yarosh halved the margin at the 15:01 mark.

Teammate David Robinson's shot was blocked but Yarosh was able to collect the rebound and quickly push a shot past Drew goalkeeper Michael Reyes.

Yarosh factored into the equalizer 11 minutes later, pushing the ball down the right wing before sending a cross into the middle for Bohrmann who gathered the pass and used his right foot to beat Reyes, tying the game in the 27th.

The Haverford defense locked down Drew's attack shortly after Tolve's second marker, limiting the Rangers to just seven more shots -- and only two more on goal -- over the game's final 72 minutes.

The staunch efforts by the defenders and solid play through the middle allowed Haverford's attack to get off a total of 24 shots in the contest with Bohrmann finally providing the game-winner late in the second half.

A quick side-step of a sliding defender deep in the attacking zone left Bohrmann with only Reyes to beat and the Haverford attacker, who scored the game-winner in the Fords' Centennial Conference championship game in 2012, rose to the occasion again with a shot into the bottom right corner at the 79:16 mark.

Haverford goalie Nick Kahn settled in after a rocky early few minutes of the game and held firm on both of Drew's other shots on goal to earn the win. Reyes took the loss but managed eight saves to keep his Rangers in the game.

The Fords continue their season at the Festival on Saturday afternoon when they'll square off against SUNY-Geneseo which played the early game Friday, a 2-2 double-overtime tie against Johns Hopkins University.
