Men's soccer places five on all-conference team

LANCASTER, Pa. - Five players from the Haverford College men's soccer team earned spots on the 2013 All-Centennial Conference team as the league released the list of honorees on Thursday morning.

Senior Adam Morollo and sophomore Sam Yarosh became the Fords' 16th and 17th first-team selections in program history while seniors Jamie Reingruber and Ford Bohrmann were named to the second-team. Voted the Centennial rookie of the year by the conference coaches, freshman Dorian Wirz earned honorable mention all-conference recognition.

Finishing in first place in the Centennial regular-season standings for the first time in program history, Haverford was the most represented team among the 28 total all-conference selections.

Morollo started all 18 games as he anchored a defense that was instrumental in the Fords extending their streak of Centennial playoff berths to three in 2013. The senior co-captain, named honorable mention all-conference last season, has been an intimidating presence in the Fords' backline since his freshman year as he has started all 71 games of his career.

Yarosh, in just his second year in a Haverford uniform, patrolled the midfield like a seasoned veteran. Registering double figures in points (14) for the second straight season, Yarosh ranked second on the team and tied for eighth in the conference in goals with six. An honorable mention all-conference selection in 2012, Yarosh was a constant threat to score as he led the team in shots with 44 while extending his streak of career to starts to 39.

Earning all-conference recognition for the third consecutive year, Reingruber started 17 games on defense for the Fords. The senior co-captain, also a second-team honoree in 2011, tallied one goal and one assist on the season. Named honorable mention all-conference last season, Reingruber was a consistent presence on Haverford's backline throughout his career.

Named to the all-conference team for the first time in his career, Bohrmann delivered a team-high 22 points in his senior campaign after registering just eight points in his first three collegiate seasons combined. The forward, who accounted for both of the Fords' goals in the 2012 Centennial tournament as Haverford registered a pair of 1-0 upsets to claim its first Centennial title, picked up where he left off last season as he finished among the conference leaders in several categories--points (tied for fourth), goals (fifth) and game-winners (tied for fifth). Bohrmann's career total of nine game-winning goals, out of 13 goals overall, ties him for fourth in the program record books.

Wirz, the league's top newcomer, started 16 contests and scored one goal as he became a fixture in the Haverford lineup in his first year in the program.

Junior David Rosenfeld from conference champion Franklin & Marshall College was named the player of the year. Swarthmore College's Peter Maxted earned the conference's scholar-athlete award while Kyle Rush from Ursinus College was voted coach of the year by his peers.

Yarosh, Reingruber and Bohrmann also earned inclusion to the conference academic honor roll this fall. Senior Colin Lubelczyk was named to the Centennial's all-sportsmanship squad.
