Sam Yarosh Named Centennial's Offensive Player of the Week

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Sam Yarosh has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after a two-goal effort Saturday at No. 19 Gettysburg. Yarosh's second honor of the year marks the third time a Haverford player has won the offensive award in 2015. Brady Seitz earned this honor last week for the Fords, while Sam Miller was named the defensive player of the week during that same award period.

During this past week, Yarosh led the Haverford offense with a pair of goals in the Fords' 4-3 win over the Bullets. The senior captain opened his team's scoring in the 12th minute of play. He then put Haverford up 4-1 with his second goal of the game in the 62nd minute of play. His final tally ended up being the game-winning goal after the Bullets came back to make the final score just a one goal difference.

Yarosh is currently leading the Centennial Conference with nine goals and 17 points on the season. His four game-winning goals are also the top mark in the conference, while he ranks fifth in the conference with three assists. Yarosh's two-goal output on Saturday was his third multi-goal contest of the season. He has recorded a point in seven of Haverford's 10 matches to start the season.

Men's soccer has now won five straight to move its record to 7-3 overall on the season. Four of those victories have come in the Centennial Conference play as the Fords took over sole possession of the top spot in the conference with their perfect 4-0 mark in the Centennial Conference.

Haverford will be back in action for two more matches this week. The Fords will travel to Rutgers-Camden this Wednesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference meeting. The team will be back at home on Saturday against Dickinson. The Centennial Conference tilt will get started at 2 p.m. on Walton Field.
