Men's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at Stevens

HOBOKEN, N.J. – Playing a team that has been a tough matchup in recent history, the Haverford College men's soccer team (2-1-2) battled Stevens (1-2-1) to a scoreless draw on Wednesday night in New Jersey.

Sam Miller made five saves in the contest to hold up his end of the clean sheet behind a strong defense. His counterpart, Aaron Henry, made three saves during his 110 minutes in goal. Miller's 110 minute clean sheet brings his career goals against average down to 0.98 as he has allowed just 49 goals in 4,486 career minutes. That mark moves him to second all-time, just ahead of Tim O'Neill '80 and his career 0.99 GAA. Teo Sevier '86/7 holds career record with 10 goals allowed in just over 1,000 career minutes.

The host Ducks held a 13-5 edge in shots for the contest but saw five of those attempts forced off target while another three tries were blocked down by the Haverford defense. The Fords held the edge in corner kick chances for the contest with an 8-3 advantage.

Ryan Hill led Haverford with two shots on goal as he saw his bids at the game's lone tally denied in the 30th and 38th minutes. Jaimon Olmsted also had a shot on goal following Hill's second shot of the evening, but that attempt was also denied by Henry after a scramble in the box following a corner kick.

The Fords held the edge in corner kicks thanks in large part to four attempts between the overtime sessions. Those final two tries both came in the final two minutes before Haverford was forced to settle for the draw.

Men's soccer will begin Centennial Conference play this weekend when it takes on Johns Hopkins at 2 p.m. on Walton Field.
