HAVERFORD, Pa. – The No. 8 Haverford College men's soccer team remained unbeaten in Centennial Conference play with a thrilling 3-2 overtime win against Gettysburg on Saturday. The Fords (7-1-2, 4-0 CC) never trailed in the match but were not able to celebrate fully until Nick Jannelli got through the Bullets (5-3-1, 2-2 CC) defense to put away the game-winning goal during the extra session.

In addition to Jannelli's game-winning goal, Tejan Walcott started out his Senior Day in style as he scored just 2:45 into the game on a cross from Ben Field. Walcott's goal was his third of the season while Field now has three assists to go along with his four goals. Field set the first goal in motion as he played a cross into the six for the close range finish from Walcott.

Gettysburg tied the contest on a similar type of goal in the 14th minute, but Julian Bright's first career goal gave the Fords the lead at the break. The sophomore's first career tally came following several deflected attempts in the box with just under a minute remaining in the opening half.

Haverford finished the game with an 18-8 advantage in shots. The closest half in terms of shots was the second when the Fords' edge was 7-5. However, it was during those second 45 minutes that Gettysburg got a goal from Ezekiel Omosanya to tie the game at two-all.

The Fords brought a 14 game winning streak during Centennial Conference regular season home games into Senior Day and it was Jannelli who made sure that streak lived in. Jannelli took matters into his own hands in the overtime period when he gathered the possession in the midfield and split several Gettysburg defenders to create just enough space for his shot to find the back of the net. His team-leading fifth goal of the season – his first career game-winning effort – came just 2:31 into the overtime session.

Sam Miller picked up the win in goal on his Senior Day to tie the school record with his 39th career victory. His career record of 39-10-4 ties Tom Boogaard '91 for the most wins in school history. Miller made two saves on the afternoon on the slick grass.

Now two points clear of second-place Franklin & Marshall and five points clear of third place in the conference standings, the Fords will turn their attention to non-conference action as they host Rutgers-Camden this Wednesday at 4 p.m. Haverford will then head out on the road when Centennial Conference play resumes next Saturday with a trip to Muhlenberg.
