D3 Week: Men's Soccer Gives Back over Spring Break

HAVERFORD, Pa. – While it is not unusual for students to head south to enjoy the warm weather during spring break, the Haverford College men's soccer team traveled to the Sunshine State with a much larger purpose. Six members of the current team stayed with teammate Max Krieg who is a native of Delray Beach, Florida. During their stay in the Sunshine State, those student-athletes participated in Feed Palm Beach County Day as a way to give back to the local community.

Their efforts helped the program provide over 500,000 meals to people in need in that local area. The event began at 8:30 a.m. and continued until just after 2 p.m. when all of the meals were prepared and packaged. The event, which is in its fifth year, helps children and families in Palm Beach County who are in need.

The student-athlete efforts were part of nearly 500 volunteers who were able to make more than five times the amount of prepared meals from previous years. For more information about Feed Palm Beach County Day, please check out the West Palm Beach Rotary Club webpage.
