Why did you choose Haverford?
One of the first things that caught my attention when looking into Haverford was its academic excellence. My former high school teammate, David Robinson '14, told me to take a look at Haverford and I was immediately impressed both from an academic and athletic standpoint.  Unlike many of the other liberal arts schools I looked at, I was really drawn to Haverford's close proximity to many other colleges and universities, as well as its easy access to the city. This prevents people from feeling isolated, despite the small size of the school. I also felt that Haverford would be a good fit for me in all areas because of its dedication and focus towards both aspects of the word student-athlete. Haverford does a great job of helping student-athletes balance their busy schedules which allows their large athlete population to succeed in all facets of life. When I took my official visit to Haverford in the fall of my senior year in high school, I knew Haverford was the place for me once I met the players on the soccer team. The camaraderie that I saw amongst the players was nothing like I had seen at any of the other schools I had visited. They were like a family and that was ultimately what solidified my decision to come to Haverford.

What is your favorite team experience?
My favorite team experience thus far in my college career has to be clinching the regular season Centennial Conference title my freshman year at Johns Hopkins. We were following scores from the other games as we were about to leave the field and we finally got word that we would host the conference tournament the next weekend. That was a tremendous feeling and a testament to all of the hard work my teammates and coaches had been putting in since mid-August. The program has enjoyed an unprecedented amount of success in the past four seasons, reaching three out of the past four Centennial Conference finals, and I'm extremely excited to continue to drive the program forward, hopefully to even greater heights.

What does being a student-athlete mean to you?
As a student-athlete at Haverford I have enjoyed a profound amount of support from my fellow students, faculty and friends. Haverford is a tightly knit community and I think that's one of the things that makes it special. All of the athletes at Haverford are really supportive of each other and we try to support our fellow Fords in their endeavors whenever possible. I have found the faculty to be very accommodating and understanding towards student-athletes. As a student-athlete I feel a responsibility to uphold the values that Haverford prides itself on, and that is not a responsibility that student-athletes here at Haverford take lightly.

What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
I would highly encourage any high school student to consider Haverford. If my former teammate David Robinson hadn't encouraged me to reach out to Coach Rineer I may not have found this incredible place. Haverford is the closest, most nurturing place I've come across and I believe that is something that people find when they visit campus. Secondly, I would encourage any high school student to reach out to some member of the Haverford community with any questions that he or she may have because people at Haverford are genuinely eager to provide advice and assistance wherever necessary.

What are your thoughts on the Honor Code?
I feel like the Honor Code at Haverford is really what makes it such an incredible and caring place. The Honor Code gives students greater responsibility and I believe students here at Haverford respond extremely well to this heightened responsibility. The Honor Code spans all parts of life at Haverford and it really creates a nurturing atmosphere, both socially and academically. Everyone at Haverford is looking out for their fellow classmates best interests and I don't think that is something that you can find at many other schools.
