PHILADELPHIA – The 43rd-ranked Haverford College men's squash team picked up a pair of solid matches in the bottom half of its order Thursday night, but host and No. 15 Drexel University was able to overcome the threat from the Fords in a 9-0 win at the Kline & Specter Squash Center.

Haverford (2-10) received its strongest play from Bret Marlowe at No. 7 and Zach Kaden at No. 8.

Marlowe battled Marc Rademaker nearly point-for-point over three games but the Drexel (11-8) player eked out a win by scores of 11-7, 11-9 and 11-7.

Kaden challenged William Heyman in each of the duo's three games at the No. 8 slot. Heyman snuck past Kaden in the opening game, 11-8, before building momentum in the second with an 11-6 win. Kaden picked up the intensity in the third game but wasn't able to overcome Heyman in an 11-7 loss.

The Fords return home to the Gardner Integrated Athletic Center squash courts for their next matches, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. In the early outing Haverford squares off against No. 33 Boston College then closes out the day against No. 26 Bucknell University.
