Men's Squash Wins 8-1 over Vassar

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's squash team recorded its seventh win of the season as it defeated the Vassar College Brewers 8-1 at the GIAC Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Aaron Horwitz won his fifth match of the season as he dropped just 15 points in his three-game victory at the No. 2 ladder position. Junior Laurenson Ward won in three games, losing just five points. Freshman Peter Dudley won his team-high eighth match of the year, winning in three straight. Junior Will Greer also was victorious, winning in three. 

Freshman Zach Cole was tested in game one, but came out with a 12-10 win before losing just six points in games two and three. Sophomore Chris Hoogstraten won 11-3, 11-7, 11-7 at the No. 7 position. Junior Alex Egilman scored his first win at the No. 8 position this year with 11-3, 11-4, 11-8 triumph. Freshman Shilin Jog was successful in defeating his opponent at the No. 9 position to score the eighth point for the Fords.

Vincent Mencotti scored the only point for the Brewers at the No. 1 position.

Haverford improved its record to 7-5 on the season, its most since the 2012-13 campaign. The Fords welcome Lehigh to the GIAC on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m.
