Men's Squash Sweeps Lehigh, 9-0

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The No. 30 ranked Haverford Men's Squash team tallied a 9-0 victory over Lehigh on Saturday at the GIAC Squash Courts on the Haverford Campus. The Fords pull to 9-4 on the season with the victory.

Haverford had success up and down the ladder, with Zach Cole powering past Juan Moralejo at the number six spot on the ladder (11-6, 11-5, 11-6) to start the action. Next up was Aaron Horwitz who took down Corey Bancroft 11-9, 11-5, 11-1 at the number three spot on the ladder. In the ninth spot on the ladder, Benjamin Soloway dispatched Ryan Ladell in four sets (11-0, 11-9, 5-11, 11-5) after falling in the third game.

In the second set of matches, Alex Liu swept Jack Littlefield (11-1, 11-9, 11-4) in the fifth spot ahead of Tate Miller's sweep of Nick Bancroft in the second spot (11-0, 11-5, 11-3). Shilin Jog breezed by Joe Mitri (11-1, 11-2, 11-3) at the eight spot on the ladder ahead of Yash Singh's victory over Colin Hussey (11-6, 11-5, 11-4) and Ryan Dukarm's win over Ben Rankin (11-3, 11-2, 11-2). The final match of the day saw Peter Dudley defeat Gordon Newell (11-4, 11-1, 11-8) to close out the sweep.

The Fords have already matched their win total from 2015-16 and look eager and poised to take down the 11-9 mark that the team embossed in 2014-15.  The team record for wins is 13, a mark that has been reached twice in Haverford history, 2001-02 and 2004-05.

Haverford will be back in action tomorrow against No. 22 Dickinson and Denison in Carlisle, Pa. The Fords then return home to face off with Georgetown and No. 15 Navy on Saturday, February 4. .
