CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -  The No. 34 Haverford College men's squash team eclipsed the program record for wins in a single season, tallying its 14th victory of the season with a Chaffee Cup semifinal triumph over No. 35 Boston College, 6-3. Haverford either won or took the match to five games at every spot on the ladder.

Niki Clement's squad has now eclipsed the 13 win plateau, a feat that was accomplished twice under Sean Sloane in the 2001-02 and 2004-05 seasons.

In contrast to the Friday match against No. 39 Washington, Haverford won at the top two spots on the ladder with relative ease as Tate Miller swept Charlie Cassoli (11-7, 11-6, 11-6) and Peter Dudley defeated Ryan Ashmore (11-5, 11-6, 11-6). At the third spot on the ladder, Aaron Horwitz defeated Seongsik Kim after dropping the first game 11-9. Horwitz responded with 11-7, 11-3 and 11-8 wins.

James Stevenson got the best of Alex Liu at the fourth spot after taking the first two games. Liu responded with a pair of 11-6 wins before falling in the fifth and final game 11-7. Zach Cole swept past Robbie Fischer at the fifth position (11-7, 11-8, 11-5) while Yash Singh and Ryan Dukarm each tallied wins in four game matches at the sixth and seventh positions on the ladder, respectively. Singh took a 12-10 opening game victory but fell in extra points 14-12 before rallying for 11-7 and 11-6 wins to seal victory.

Ryan Dukarm took on Christopher Tozzi, extending his program-best win total to 15 with a four game win after falling in the second game 11-13. Dukarm responded with 11-6 and 12-10 victories, taking the win in extra points.

Shilin Jog and Keshav Kalani were defeated at the number eight and nine spots on the ladder in five games each, battling before falling to Elliott O'Brien and Harrison Locke, respectively.

Haverford will return to action on Sunday in the Chaffee Cup final against No. 33 Bucknell at Harvard. Match time is slated for 1:30 p.m. Last weekend, No. 34 Haverford was edged by then-No. 35 Bucknell 5-4 at the GIAC Squash Courts.
