HAVERFORD, Pa. – Senior co-captain Zach Cole of the Haverford men's squash team has been named a College Squash Association (CSA) Scholar Athlete for the 2017-18 season, the organization announced.
The Scholar Athlete Award (varsity team players) and Academic Recognition Award (club team players) is granted to juniors or seniors who have played on the team throughout their college career, participated in the majority of the team's matches in the top-10 of the lineup during the season, and have achieved a high academic standing at their institution.
Cole picks up the honor in his senior season after capping his squash career with a 40-33 overall record, good for the third most overall individual wins in program history. This season, Cole finished with a 5-9 record at number six singles and a 1-2 mark at the seventh spot on the ladder. Cole, also a member of the Haverford men's lacrosse program, finished with 13 singles wins in 2015-16 and 11 in 2016-17.
